Concept of Operations 5

Concept of Operations 5 involves automatic reporting of configuration by component where the telematics device is installed in the prime mover of the vehicle. In this configuration, on-board scales or mass measurement devices are installed in trailers communicating to the telematic device installed in the prime mover. These scales or devices reports the configuration of the vehicle along with actual mass of the configuration. The telematics system also reports information on fuel consumed.

• Distance travelled on public road

• Vehicle configuration

• Actual mass

The total Road user charging (RUC) for this configuration would be the sum of Registration charges along with Distance-based charge for whole configuration unit.
