The National Pilot mock invoice contains comprehensive vehicle activity statistics, encompassing distance, time, and fuel usage metrics, systematically allocated based on distinct operating activities such as Public and Non-Public road usage.

How does National Pilot determine what is non-public road usage for fuel tax credits?

National Pilot maintains a database of millions of spatial features that covers the whole of Australia. This database is compiled from numerous third-party and proprietary sources providing property, road and land use information published by state and local government bodies, and is updated at least quarterly.

We also include feedback from the participants relating to specific locations and conduct monthly analysis across all active clients using automated tools to identify high-concentrations of non-public road activity for evaluation.

Each GPS point recorded by your telematics system is analysed against this database to determine the classification of the position. The results of the classification are visible to the trial participants through the Trip Viewer and Audit Map tools in the National Pilot web application.

Cant find one of the vehicle in the list of vehicles in National Pilot vehicle register?

If you've recently acquired a new vehicle for your fleet or unable to find an existing vehicle in the vehicle register that you wish to include it in your monthly reports, simply connect the vehicle with your telematics provider.

As soon as the vehicle records any activity, National Pilot automatically detects it as a new addition and incorporate it into the Vehicle Register.

We highly recommend taking a moment to review the details in the Vehicle Register, ensuring their accuracy, including information such as category, make, and model.

For additional guidance on updating your vehicles, please refer to the help center's 'Using the Vehicle Register' section for comprehensive information.

I have my fuel purchase records. Would I be able to use it for reporting purposes?

My Excel report is blank when I open it. What are my next steps for this scenario?

Upon receiving the report either through email or download from the web app, it is necessary to save the file to your computer before utilising it. Once saved, the report will populate, enabling you to access and edit the FTC Fuel adjustment tab.

To save the file:

  1. Open the file attachment from the email.

  2. In the top left-hand corner of the screen, navigate to File → Save As and follow the provided prompts to assign a name to the file and specify a preferred storage location.

For further guidance on features available on the web application, please refer to the Logging into your web application or the first time page.

What if I have new vehicles to add to my report?

To ensure that a new vehicle added to your fleet is included in your monthly reports, simply connect the vehicle with your telematics provider.
Once the activity is recorded, National pilot will record the activity of the new vehicle and add them onto the vehicle register.

We do recommend spending sometime on the vehicle register space and ensure the vehicle details are correct. For example, vehicle make, model and registration details.

What If I have changed my vehicle specifications in my telematics system, Would National Pilot reflect this?

Changes made in the telematics system will flow through to National Pilot at the nest data update, which occurs at least daily for most integrated systems. The Vehicle Register will include any changes that do not overwrite any that were made by directly editing the Vehicle Register.

What If I do not want all my vehicles to be added for reporting? Can I disable them?

Users have the option to deactivate individual vehicles in the vehicle register section to cease data collection for those specific vehicles. Should you ever want to start collecting data for these vehicles again you can turn them back on and National Pilot will start collecting data from that point onwards.
